Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and German Chancellor Angela Merkel had a telephone talk to discuss a wide range of issues, the president’s press office says in a press release.
The sides discussed the current status and prospects of the Kazakh-German relations, trading and economic cooperation and exchanged opinions about the most urgent problems of the international agenda–including the situation in Ukraine, the press release says.
“The president of Kazakhstan said that the Ukrainian crisis should be resolved through diplomatic means – including negotiations between the concerned sides and international mediation in order to ensure the territorial integrity of this country. Also, the sides should stop making threats against each other and issue ultimatums,” the press release says.
Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan could help find compromise solutions for peaceful resolution of the situation in Ukraine.
