Kazakhstan one of the most prosperous countries in the post-soviet space – Bordyuzha

August 16, 2011

Extremist and terrorist organizations have no future in Kazakhstan, says CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha.

“There are signs of extremist activity, and some information on the activity of terrorist organizations in Kazakhstan. But it is absolutely wrong to talk of revolution in Kazakhstan. This is a very stable country with a good atmosphere, strong law enforcement structure and extensive security system,” Bordyuzha noted during a video press conference at RIA Novosti news agency.

“In this regard, I think Kazakhstan is one of the most prosperous countries in the post-soviet space in terms of stability and economic development,” he added.

The Collective Security Treaty Organization is an intergovernmental military alliance which was established by the CIS states on the basis of the Treaty on Collective Security. Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are members of the organization. CSTO’s aim is promoting multilateral solutions to security and economic challenges.
