Almaty. September 20. Interfax-Kazakhstan – The government of Kazakhstan intends to merge the companies operating 12 domestic airports, the vice president of the national railway company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Yerkhat Iskaliyev, told journalists on Thursday.
“We have big plans for the transportation sector. The government is likely to create one big company that will operate twelve airports,” he said Thursday in Almaty at the conference called “Kazakhstan – New Silk Road – A Bridge between Europe and Asia.”
Iskaliyev explained the journalists that the decision was principally made but “it has not been worded yet”.
“Samruk-Kazyna and the Transport Ministry are developing an action plan. In other words, the management of the airports know about the plans and work is underway,” he said.
