Kazakhstan Enters Top Fifty World Economies For Doing Business, Continues March Up World Bank`s Rankings
Kazakhstan’s business climate has improved dramatically in 2011, climbing 11 places in the World Bank’s Doing Business rankings to enter the top 50 world economies for the first time.

The World Bank’s Doing Business Report 2012, released today, showed that Kazakhstan has moved up 11 places to 47, with strong progress in protecting investors and paying taxes. The success continues a steady trend for Kazakhstan, the world’s fastest reformer in last year’s rankings, when it rose 15 places to 58. -
Our Opening Presentation
The official launch of the Kazakh-British Chamber of Commerce took place on June 17, 2009 at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel. The opening reception was hosted in partnership with Adam Smith Conferences on the first day of the Kazakh Growth Forum, one of the Europe’s largest and most prestigious international forums on Kazakhstan.

Receptions in Davos 27 and 29 January
On 27 and 29 January 2011 in Davos, Switzerland The Cocktail and Lunch Reception were hosted by the CEO of Kazakhstan’s National Welfare Fund “Samruk –Kazyna” Mr Kairat Kelimbetov and Mr Arur Krivov on behalf of Kazakh-British Chamber of Commerce to coincide with the World Economic Forum.
The events were held at ArabellaSheraton Hotel Seehof and Steigenberger Belveder , in Davos.

Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus Agree On Economic Union
Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan have agreed to create a body regulating their trade and economies that could eventually become a Eurasian economic union. The presidents of the three former Soviet republics — which have recently set up a common customs union that allows a free movement of labor and goods between the countries — signed a declaration in the Kremlin targeting a full “Eurasian economic union” by 2015. Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev, Belarus’s Alyaksandr Lukashenka, and Nursultan Nazarbaev of Kazakhstan also signed an accord on the creation of a super-national executive body to oversee tighter economic integration.

The new Parliament and reshuffled Government have begun their work. In 2011, the country’s economy grew by 7.5 per cent. The gross domestic product per capita exceeded 11,000 USD. A substantial part of previously sold assets has been returned to state ownership.

- Soyuz capsule lands in Kazakhstan
A Soyuz space capsule carrying two Russian cosmonauts and an American astronaut has landed safely in Kazakhstan, less than four hours after undocking from the International Space Station.
- Spain and Qatar offer Kazakhstan to form food security union
"Spain and Qatar offer Kazakhstan to form a food security union," former Spanish Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Qatar Food Program Counselor Angel Moratinos told after the meeting with Kazakh Foreign Affairs Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov. "Along with Qatar we suggest Kazakhstan to establish a new food security alliance, and we hope that Kazakhstan will take part in it. Kazakhstan may contribute greatly to the agricultural structure of the union," he added

The Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation and the United States of America have committed to combat the threat of nuclear proliferation and nuclear terrorism. Since 2004 our three countries have been collaborating to implement a number of projects aimed at elimination of the remnants of the past nuclear testing activities within the territory of the former Semipalatinsk Test Site to bring it to a safe and secure state. The Presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia and the United States of America have personally supervised the realization of these goals.
- EurAsEC reorganization tops Kazakh President’s official visit to Moscow
The Eurasian Economic Community may be reorganized. The Kremlin has staged this year's first meeting of the EurAsEC Interstate Council, the main theme of which was the reform of the organization. Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus are now united by the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space. For the future, Astana, Moscow and Minsk are building large-scale plans to build a fully-fledged Eurasian Union, which implies completely different prospects.
